Deepka's involvement in community services has earned her numerous awards including Citizen of the Year (1998), Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Good Neighbor Award (1999), Volunteer of the Year Award, Northside Community Center, (1999), and Outstanding Public Servant, Best of Milpitas Awards by The Milpitas Post (2003). 

Deepka received MBA degree in Business Finance from  San Jose State University in 1993.
